Originally published in 2002, a report written by Jay Abraham, the hall of famer marketer outlines the “Nine Drivers of Upside Leverage & Exponential Business Growth”.  These drivers are as effective today as they were in 2002.

I share with you my brief interpretation of this 16 page report.

What is “upside leverage”?  Probably the best definition is:

“An activity, an investment, an opportunity or an effort that produces for you and your business a much more profitable result or yield than it would otherwise.”

The Nine Drivers of Business Growth

1.  Marketing – identify all the marketing activities and processes of your company and look for methods to improve.  These include not only looking within your own business but by looking outside your company and industry.  Adapt, borrow and adopt processes that will enhance your marketing strategies.

2. Your Strategy – change the strategy you follow.  Think long term and be proactive.  What do you wish to accomplish, build and sustain with your business?  Define your overall operating approach to get your greatest outcome.

3. Capital -  human capital, intellectual capital, financial capital

4. Your Business Model – one time sale vs sustainable ongoing business

5. Relationships - leverage your personal and  business relationships

6. Your Distribution Channels – distribution network of retailers, catalogs

7.  Your Products and Services – create new markets and/or new products.

8. Your Processes, your Procedures, Your Systems – identify the processes driving your business traffic.

9. Your Ideology – what is the belief system that drives you?

There you have 9 drivers of upside leverage and exponential business growth.
